Goals for 2014!

This is a bit late, but that doesn’t mean I’m not excited about 2014. This is the year I get to hold my Lydia on the outside! I also hope to learn the art of balancing shoots and childcare, and I am so grateful for all the resources I’ve found in the Norman, Oklahoma, area and I’m happy to have family so close by!

Here are my top 3 goals for the year:

1. Make the most of my props!newborn girl photography propsI think I am at capacity in terms of newborn photography props (in terms of storage and budget!), but it’s easy for me to see something and get inspired to buy it! This year, I hope to use every item I own for at least one shoot and use my creativity to incorporate the same items in different sessions and still get a completely unique look.

2. Twins session

I am only in control of so much, I know, but if at all possible I would LOVE to shoot my first pair of twins this year 🙂 Now that I have met a of couple people to choose from to be my helper and the appropriate props and studio-lighting know-how, I think I am really prepared to shoot 2 newborns at a time.

3. Support 1 or more charities and other local businesses

If you are looking for a $50 gift certificate for Mary Thomas Photography AND a designer frame from Zin Frames, be sure to place your bid at the Valentine’s silent auction on Saturday, February 8th, from 6 – 8pm at Wildwood Community Church near 24th and Robinson! I probably won’t make it to the event since I will be otherwise preoccupied with a brand new baby BUT it benefits victims of human trafficking so please go and donate to this worthy cause. I also hope to sponsor the Eden’s Clinic walk in the fall and I’m helping a friend display her crocheted newborn hats and booties on Etsy by trading photos for handmade items (this will help me with goal #1!) I’m also feeling around for other co-advertising opportunities possibly with Stella Belle’s Shop and Agape Doula Services.

I hope everyone has a great year!
